Scion xD Release 2.0 Official
Honestly, the latest RS for the tC was extremely well done as it contained valuable options that enhanced performance and appearance.
The inclusion of a navi is nice, since its far cheaper than the Scion branded navi thats available. However, having different (read as: wider) wheels/tires would be a nice thing to add like in the case of the other RS's for the other Scion lines. Saying that you have the same rims as 2600 (or 1600 in this case) other people isn't that bad, considering that each dealer only gets one of these RS's to sell, so you end up with only a couple dozen in even the largest metro areas. Pretty low number compared to those driving on stockies.
The interior lighting features are cool also, nice touch. And the paint, well, I'll have to see it in person. I was skeptical of the flat black paint for the latest tC release because it seemed like another knock off of black sand pearl et al. I turned out to look really nice in person. So I'll wait to see the Electric Wasabi myself before I comment. Though I am glad that they broke away from the standard colors for this RS. It does show that Scion is listening to us a bit.
Finally, the xD is an aggressive looking Scion. Its the only one that actually looks good with a lift kit and monster truck tires or something. perhaps exterior pieces that make it look meaner would have worked on this line. Dunno, just thinking out loud here.
Though all in all, this seems to be a direct copy of the xb2 release series. All the same features inside and out, just a different color.

I agree with that to a point.
The car will still be around for another model year so they will still get plenty of sales on TRD parts and they installed parts that are relitively fast moving for the most part anyway. I think that TRD will still be selling this current model tC's parts for a few years to come but I'm sure it helped them alleviate any worry of outragous overstock for the future.

I like the color, I wouldn't do it because the RS hot lava at least had the springs and sway bar (which appealed to me) and this has nothing special (to me).
I think they need a RS-x series, TRD charger, exhaust, brakes, springs and sway bar-special models with special colors are fine but just a color change does little to instill any uniqueness IMO
The nismo versions of the Z and GT-R ars special, the sentra SE-R is special, VWs with the wolfsburg package used to be special as are the GTi and GLi models and then the mazdaspeed versions are hot as i sthe SS versions of chevy cars (like the new cobalt and HHR)-scion really does not do any performance models (I mean in a super special way like above) and that is going to hurt the speed/performance aftermarket crowd especially when engine swaps aren't possible either.
Just my 2 cents

Hard to tell from the pic on the color. I would have to see it in person. I definitely like the features on my RS1 better. I like the kit on my RS1 and feel like they should have put one on the RS2. I mean if you are paying extra for the "special" color you probably don't want to have to find a body kit and pay another $500-600 to get it painted, and possibly installed. They should have color matched the interior as well instead of going with grey. I do like the factory nav though.
The RS are nice just for the colors... I like having something you don't see 10 more on the road while you are driving. I don't think they should put wheels on them, because its something easily customizable, and makes a huge difference on the car (same car with different wheels look much different overall). I think they should have put a body kit on though... its nice knowing you have a body kit only 1999 other people have.
To me the RS are just a better start than a regular car to fix up. I don't want it to be completely done, but to have a good start on a neat looking car. Just my opinions.

If the only things special is color and nav and door sills I can all that for cheaper...and other than the color can be done for less on any other car....once again limited edition FAIL
I'm lovin the interior of the RS2.... I dunno, maybe it's one of those things that'll grow on me the more I see it. I haven't seen one in person, so not sure how it will face up in person with that paint. Might be alright IMO.
Meh. It's alright, but nothing to write home about...
Ironically, I found out about this today on page 3 of AutoBlog... I remember when the lead up to these releases started months before.
