the 1.8 gets up to 41 mpg highway with 5 speed manual trans in the corolla .

toyota WOULD be smart to make the xB's replacement with the 1.8 or the new 1.8 dual vvti .... but they aren't they're giving us the crappy not even factory able to be supercharged crap arsed 2.4

Sounds to me that the new xB will have crap mpg, will look much worse, will be larger +utility, -(gas milage, and looks)... and will have to be much more expensive to pay for the new engine, and new size...

Basically... that would completely kill the xB for me as anything near an option.

If I wanted a honda element... I would buy one of those instead of a xB... why do we need 2 cars that are exactly the same except for brand?

Heard over the weekend from my friend who is a GM at an LA Scion dealer that there are talks of the tC motor being put in the new xB. He also said production of the 07 xB is to end in February and he expects to be out of cars by April 07... time is running short folks, for those of you who want that current bodystyle, better get it together, their days are numbered.

They can put a 2.4 in a box -- that's fine by me. However, I hope they offer a small car (e.g. xB or xA sized) with a fuel efficient engine in some model. Either that or I'll go the Yaris route for the next vehicle.

Yep, according to this months C&D, no more xB OR xA after this year. Being discontinued and replaced by something else. According to C&D, the only real info they have is that the replacements will debut in early 2007 and they have no real word (other than speculation) to what they will look like.
