Even the original Mini Cooper wagon was a two door...

I'm just afraid that what was a "small box" (xB) will become a "large box" (van).

Tomas

The xB does not need to be turned into a mini-van.

Four huge doors with an even more overweight and oversized backside make it a definite no for me.

I hope Scion surprises us all in December.

Okay, based on the spy shoots, the Already availabe bB in japan, and the t2B concept, I'ved sketch something that might be close.

But then again it could be something else

Guamsilverbox671, you've managed to capture the essence of the xB without duplicating it.

I know it's probably to late, but SCION... TOYOTA... are you paying attention to this? That should be your next gen box. NOT a minivan... but an evolved box!

I too would buy that design if they made it. I like the idea of the box getting even smaller.

The small 5x5 pixel picture in the 1st post reminds me of the Saturn Vue - the car that comes in such exotic skittle-derived colors such as neon puke green!

That small box Guam drew looks like the Dodge Hornet

I don't own a Scion yet, but I think that if they're working on a slightly bigger box, they're going for people like me who found the xB just a little too small. No disrespect, but Scion has already sold you guys xBs- I don't understand the complaints about changes to the new box that might draw more people into the Scion family.

Sounds like all the new one needs is a sliding door.

Hope I'm wrong.

Tomas
Oh god I hope you are as well.

I think we're concerned that something like a wack sliding van door would damage the progressive image of the brand, and bring down resale.

sliding doors might be kinda cool...like what if they front doors went to the front of the car and the the rear went to the back...no more dinged doors! and ppl would be like...wtf look at those doors. but it needs to be the same size/weight if not smaller and have about 20-30 more hp.

the sketch is very very good.

Seriously think Scion is going in the wrong direction from what we have been seeing from Tomas's pics and despite what the movers and shakers have been trying to reassure us elsewhere on SL. THAT t2B Concept IS what the production needs to stick close to or Scion heads are gonna roll . I myself vote for SLIDING doors . One reason is the inherent blind spots hence danger of the suicide doors (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_door ). Yeah it's seems to be da flavor o'da day but NOT practical. 2nd reason is u need enough room between the next car to swing any door of the hinged-type. Who said that sliding doors are exclusive to *minivans*-type of vehicles? It's just a design tool that any car designer have to work with in his toolbox, no more, no less. Don't go reading into it that it only belongs on minivans and minivans only..and minivans aren't cool. I can tell yall this much, that t2B won't drive anything like a minivan!! He!!, it will be sporty!! Yall need to get yall heads unwrapped/disassociated from that mindset. Yall look at a t2B pic 45-degree from front, right-side of car http://netcarshow.com/scion/2005-t2b_concept/03.htm and tell me t2B doesn't look *gangsta*!! $h!t, all Scion needs to do is put tC panaromic-style moonroofs on t2B and MOI will show yall how much gangsta it is http://images.google.com/images?q=tb...50/1096035.jpg (picture Oh Brother Where Art Thou" bank robbery getaway scene--where that bipolar gangsta stood up thru the *moonroof* and gave da coppers solid leads )!! Yall, all I'm saying is: it'z da modern interpretation of those gangster cars in those old gangster movies of yall. So don't get it twisted: it's more the minivans-don't-drive-sporty/funtodrive perception of the minivans THAT yall don't like, NOT the SLIDING doors. Point da finger at the real suspect in da police lineup, not the innocent one!! Again, tell me da t2B is NOT gangsta from any angle, aight?! (So Scion, u need to give me moonroofs in production car so I can blast anyone that think the t2b is too "gurlie", aight!!..or those that don't like my posts , LOL). SCION just need to make sure to make the SLIDING doors longer (go past the wheelwells long enuff than Concept to make REAR passenger ingress/egress easier..AND..make the sliding doors 2-levels/-clicks as I previously spilled in https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...40943&start=51 . OK, enuff

Thanks for others to point out the Dodge Hornet Concept. NOW, THAT's one BADAZZ (yall just need to go to http://dodge-hornet.com and check the thumnails@LEFT for wallpaper-ish size pics). I have been pinning my hopes on that t2B but from what I've been seeing and hearing, I think I'm STARTING to turn elsewhere now--as in AWAY from the Scion brand (who knew Dodge would designed such an exciting and full of surprises vehicle--all the qualities that Scion claim they are...but can anyone seriously tell us bunch what we have seen so far inspires any desire and stir any "what moves you" feeling?? PUH-LEEEEEZE !!)

I think all this intentional buildup of suspense from Scion all gonna amount to the...BIG NOTHING . I'm telling you at this juncture, Scion, my crystal ball is telling me heads r gonna roll..unless u prove us wrong!!

NOW my 1 Q: since this is gonna be a US-only vehicle, still gonna be made in Japan?

I never thought of that but u (or any1 else) know of any car (production or concept) that has doors like that? I just think it "looks" weird-ish like if u sitting inside the car lounging around with the doors opened. Sum1 need to sketch it up to see what it looks like!! U want to take it Guamsilverbox671 ??

There is nothing at all wrong with sliding doors - in fact there have been sliding door concept
cars from Toyota that I really like the design of. In fact, here is one from a couple years ago:

Something like that in a size/power/strength to fit comfortably into the US market would be a
trip. I like it.

The problem is that I don't want a Scion Sienna...
