MyxB would be gone for that Hornet! What a wicked car that is. Mini+xB=Hornet.

I know it's probably to late, but SCION... TOYOTA... are you paying attention to this? That should be your next gen box. NOT a minivan... but an evolved box!
I tried to sketch another one over the weekend. Being evolved, I based my drawing on the t2B concept, made it smaller, and tried to tie it with the existing xb.

Well it may not look like this, but it was sure fun tryin.

Oh yeah, I'd buy that if Scion made it. Probably the closest thing to that will be wearing a Dodge badge. Old predjudices are hard to kill though, especially when it comes to $$$. 26.14 years still have to pass, and the pope has to personally endorse the brand before I even consider a DC vehicle.

I don't own a Scion yet, but I think that if they're working on a slightly bigger box, they're going for people like me who found the xB just a little too small. No disrespect, but Scion has already sold you guys xBs- I don't understand the complaints about changes to the new box that might draw more people into the Scion family.
Indeed. Everyone's different, but the only thing I don't like about the current XB is that it's just a bit too small in the cargo area. Unless you fold the seats down there's not as much usable floorspace as you'd expect. I realize this puts me in 'soccer dad' territory and therefore makes me unwanted by some. But if you're like me and have actually procreated (and it seems like a lot of you are in your late 20 or early 30s like me so even if you haven't yet, your time may be coming sooner than you think ) you'll have a kiddie seat in the back row which prevents you from taking advantage of most of the hauling space since it's only available when the seats are folded flat. None of us here want an SUV or minivan. But I think they can find a happy medium.

And I like the current styling but I personally like the looks of the T2B even better. If it's anywhere close to the T2B then the nextgen XB will definitely be the frontrunner to become my next vehicle.

Nice work Jesse! I think your first drawing is probably closer to the mark, but I know you weren't trying for realism in the second one.

It'll be very cool to see how close you were with these!

Thanks for sharing your skills!

Default Release Date

Car and Driver mentions a release date in early spring 2007. I can't see Scion just having one product offering for too long. I hope as the Detroit International Car Show nears, we will hear more and cross your fingers, may be even a glimpes of the new box!!!

Default Hats off to Scion.

you gotta hand it to Scion though. Whatever they come out with will sell. I was soooo skeptical of the original xB when I first saw it. When my General Manager told me in Dec 03, Chad, you're gonna sell those - I was so in the dark, a little worried that the "box" look might not sell. But we all proved otherwise. I'm kind of interested to see what the turnout is.

I hope the original owners that like it trade up their Original Style xB's for a new generation xB, maybe filling up the used car market with a few more than just 1 or 2 Used xB's here and there.

And then, of course, some of the owners may not like it and keep their Original xB's. Either way, it will cause a distraction in the car market, much like Scion originally did back in August of 03 when they hit the states.

I say Congrats and Hats Off to a New model. I'm excited about it.

wow, i am hoping the opposite. if everyone trades in the gen 1 xB resale value will be terrible and then no one will be able to trade. . .

I've been checking online on several sites and it appears that Toyota may officially unveil the 2008 Scion xB (new model) and Scion xD (xA replacement) at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month. We'll probably find out on the press preview day on November 30, 2006.

The new xB will probably be based on the new JDM Toyota Corolla Fielder wagon model though with a body design that is strongly inspired by the Scion T2B concept vehicle. It'll probably use the 2.4-liter I-4 from the Scion tC coupe.

Try this:

...or this:
http://www.miamibeachconvention.com/.../index.php?k=1

...to put it in perspective.

Remember, to, a bunch of us are being flown to Miami for the "Scion Miami Event" that takes place in the convention center on December 15th...

Then again, it may have nothing at all to do with the new Scions, eh?

Default December 15th.

...hhhhhmmmmm....December 15th. The link to the calendar does say SCION VEHICLE RELEASE!!!!!!!

You guys in Miami at that time are going to have to give us all a shout out!!!

...unless they make you sign a non-discloser...that would suck!!! Hey, but if they show the new line to you guys, I can't see why I would not be seeing them in Detroit in Mid Jan!!!

Come on December 15th!!!!

Default Also...Canada

...oh...and I for one will be keeping my '05 and getting my wife the new box. This will finally give me a chance to do some legitimate mods on the 05. Seeing how I have to keep it somewhat stock since we have been using it for our family trips.

Any word if Scion will be selling in Canada this time??? ...or am I still going to get the neck breaking looks when I go up there to visit family?

Fun, isn't it? :D I think it's fun.

Of course, even if Scion begins selling in Canada the xA and xB will still be a rarity, (discontinued) and garner astonished and confused looks.

It is about time for them to break into the Canadian market, the market up there certainly seems ready, and they HAVE been discussing it with some Canadian dealers, but I don't know how that has fared. Last I heard they were shooting for more separation between the Toyota dealerships and Scion - like different building and lot...

Er, back on-topic. The hints we've been able to dig up about a new model release in December are few and far between, but with them spending nearly a half million on getting a bunch of people together in Miami, the wording on the Miami convention center calendar, and the announced fact that production for xA and xB end in early December, well, we can hope, right?
