I'm going to take a stab at this and say it is probably the Ractis. Why? Looking at pictures of the car, it doesn't take too much away from the xA and a lot of the things that were requested in changes in the xA was more leg room, more head room, more cargo space. All which the Ractis has.

There other changes I noticed is the all glass panarama roof and small touchies that make the Ractis the replacement of choice.

Now if it is the Ractis would I trade my A in for it? nom I wouldn't, I would however buy it since I've gotten into this Toyota mini car craze and hoping that the Aygo also comes this side of the pond. Then i'll have a real hard decision to go Yaris Hatch, Aygo, or whatever the xA will be in 08...

That is one thing I don't care for about Toyota/Scion is how the information isn't released for several months then BAM.. when you do a search for xA, there are a few articals that come up regarding the demise of the xA and the new "xD" and I'm sure that leads to a lot of buying confusion for people looking at wanting the xA.

Oh well, I look forward to whatever the xD will be but my personal perference and opinion is that I hope the Ractis comes state side along with the Aygo.
