Honestly, this wind deflector issue is what's keeping me from buying this car. No one in this forum so far has convinced me to continue pursuing it. I haven't bought a tC yet (waiting on a 2007) but what happens if you get the laminate, and the glass breaks. You get it fixed, then it happens again. Then what?
I've had an '05 for two years, and it hasn't happened to me.
If you're that concerned about it, get the extended warranty and just pay an extra $30.00 a month for six years of coverage.
Honestly, it's more than worth it. If something covered under the warranty were happen to my car, the maximum I'd have to pay to have it fixed would be $50.00. Of course, the Toyota warranty covers everything the factory warranty covers, if not more.
I've had an excess of $800.00 of interior parts, total, counting parts replaced by Tustin Toyota after they gouged the heck out of my center console doing some routine maintainance, and finally by Power Toyota Irvine, who replaced all the dash panels without scraping up or gouging other ones.
Honestly, if something happens to a new car that isn't supposed to happen, you will have it fixed. There's no way you can buy a tC, have the sunroof break a couple of times, and be told by the dealership they won't fix it. You can sue for something like that.
