Whoa! it costs you that much to replace your bulbs. What kinda kit do you have? the cheapest place i found for h11 hid bulbs was around 60-70 dollars, unless your planning to get another kit.

Actaully looking closely at the 08 headlamps. The brow in it from Scion is just plastic.

Im waiting on the time to move out on mine, and find out the proper way to bake them so i can tear them apart. I have some ideas to really sharpen the look of the headlight up. Cuz the greyish black only looks good on a black tC..... I have until December (HIN Hawaii) to get lights in hand and the ball rolling.

Plus while i have it torn apart, it will be simplistic to patch the squirrel hole with some better material than a soda can piece.

i do like the brow on the older headlights more. They shouldve put the same brown into the 08s except smoked.

I have a McCulloch HID kit. If I were to replace the 9006 bulbs with H11 bulbs it would cost $139 from McCulloch. Sucks, but I'll do it anyway.

Well this thread definitely has me planning on getting the 08 projectors as soon as Sparks has more - I don't have HID at all right now, which means I need a whole kit, but I suppose the upside is that I don't have to replace anything to get H11. Who has the best kit out there that I can buy with H11? Good deals?

Operatic's kit is good or you can go with another brand. Be sure they make a custom kit for you though. 9006 connection for the ballasts and the H11 bulbs for them. Has to be a custom kit. Hope that helps.

Where can I pick up the Operatic kit? Any reason it's better than anything else?

Daurigon it doesnt make sense to me on it being a custom kit. If you are buying a brand new HID kit for the 08 headlights then just get a H11 bulb type kit, thats it. no customization necessary

No, you have to get the 9006 connection. Whenever you buy an HID kit, the ballasts come with whatever connection you buy, i.e. H11 will have the H11 connections on the ballast. Since you do not have the 08 tC, you still have the 9006 connection on your car and it will be easier to buy 9006 ballasts with H11 bulbs unless you want to splice into the stock harness. I though all HID kits were plug and play, but they are specific to the bulb size. you have to get a custom kit.

daurigon u were responding to iowagary correct? if so then he is buying a brand new HID kit for the 08 projectors so again he only has to buy the kit for the H11 buld type and thats it. no customization. the 08 projectors are H11 so then would he buy some parts H11 and some 9006?

the previous tc's are still using the 9006 harness not the h11 harness. thats why he has to get a custom 9006 kit with h11 bulbs.

Just PM'd Operatic to see what he's got in a 6000k hit with H11 bulbs and 9006 harness - thanks for all the help around here... wouldn't have been able to do this right on my own!

Wow, so much more info has been added since the last time I read this...all 12 pgs worth more! So since the projector is only in the lowbeam spot then we would only need single xenon bulbs right? We won't need bi-xenon bulbs since we won't be putting high beams in there. Would it be safe to put HIDs in the low and high beam spot? I know with our car the lows stay on with the highs so that would be a lot of heat. thx for the help.

Just if anyone was interested, i talked to Operatic and a 9006 kit with H11 bulbs is the same price as the rest - $160 shipped. I'll probably go for those right away and get the projectors as soon as they're back in stock.
