2011 Mazda 3 MazdaSpeed HoodScoop!
I agree with McHaggiz, yes I am trolling because first of all, you are trying to do something for the looks and you have no clue what the hell you are talking about. Yes there is turbo kits, you can go ahead and buy one. There is no point of a hood scoop if you are getting a front mount. If you want a mazdaspeed 3 hood scoop, sell your tc and buy the mazda. If you are gonna turbo your tc and not know what you are doing, bye bye motor. You might blow it.
You generally don't make a whole lot of sense when you post. To run an intercooler, you must have a turbo or a supercharger. If you don't understand the point of an intercooler, google it. A hood scoop on a tC isn't going to cause any sort of "drag" that you'll be able to notice in any respect. If you want a hood scoop, they make stick on ones that will work perfect for you.

First of all what is wrong with trying to do something for the oks. And like i said before why is there WRX and STI's with hood scoops and a front mount. I guess them guys are pretty dumb also right? Sell my Tc and buy a Mazda, I love my Tc and i just want to make it how i want it and i dont see anything wrong with taking ideas from other cars. Yeah i dont know much about boost but thats what SL is here for and im sure there is a lot of people on here that would be willing to help. Some people talk like Honda haters Scions should be like a family i dont see why some People hate.

I do think there are more tactful ways of voicing opinions. And at the end of the day it is your car. But I think people are trying to save you from being that guy whose car gets laughed at as people walk by. :? The tC just doesn't have the aggressiveness for these things people try doing to it.
Honestly you can't compare a wrx/sti/mazdaspeed3 with a tc. If you want to compare the wrx/sti go look at NASOIC. I'm pretty sure their scoops with the top mount are built to withstand the water. Yes Jon is right, the scoop will just look funny on a tc I mean in my opinion it is. If you want to, go ahead but don't regret what you do. No top mount built for the tc so there is no point. From what my friend told me, I'm not sure if it's true, but Subaru that run top mount is better if you are running low boost. When you are more built or whatever with more horsepower they get the front mount.
The Subaru STI comes stock with a top mount IC and a hood scoop designed for it.
Once someone with an STI starts building it out, they often get a new turbo to get rid of the 'lag' that the OEM setup has, and that can also lead to a whole new FI setup including a front mount IC.
Once they do this, they are most likely not going to go plunk down cash to buy a new hood without a scoop. They may get a CF hood with a different design, and the people you see 'around town' may just be in the middle of their build-up and a new scoopless hood is on order. Heck they may have a custom air flow redirect under that scoop and the air goes somewhere else entirely.

I think i might just go with this hood to save time and money. Not as big as i would like it but to me it looks better than OEM.
