3rd Brake Light "Extensions"?
Have you noticed that the 3rd brake light lens is about 3 times longer than the light that is hidden under it?
That leaves the left and right sections un-illuminated when you step on the brake.
This kind of bugs me.
I'd like the light to extend all the way across behind the lens.
Anyone know of a way to mod this?

search the tech section - if not found there, someone did a led addition to those by removing it and drilling in new red led's... using search look for "tC brake light" .. you should find something
There are two little doors on the inside of the rear hatch that are there to address the repalcement of two lights for the license plate. From there you can abserve how the brake light assembly is attached.
I believe the way to do this mod is to remove the black plastic interior panel on the rear hatch, so you can have full access to the various attchment points.
At first glance I noticed there is a very soft black plastic weather seal that I'm concerned about. I don't want to create leaks.
The other thing I noticed by looking though the two doors is that the center lens and light assembly appear to be glued together. That would be a bummer.
I was considering buying two light assemblies and cutting them apart to get the required lights and housing to attach to the rear of the clear lens.
Would be expensive, but that way you know you get the correct lights and they come in a convenient housing that you should be able to attach in a manner similar to the way the factory has attached the one in the center.
Nice theory, huh?
I think I need an exploded view of this area from the service department and a quick look at their lens/light assembly as it comes from Scion to see if any if the above is correct.
