Default Air Horns...

anyone else think the horn could use an upgrade?
nonetheless, if you have upgraded it, what did you use? also would a standard 12 volt horn work in there?

where are you gonna mount the compressor and everything else?

that's about it.. no other requirement besides time and space.

someone has done it...he mounted everything to the bumper support, right in front of the radiator. however, the air does take a while to get compressed, so if you have the factory alarm...it wont beep when you turn the alarm on

i carried an air horn in my car for a while, and when people would drive like jerks and get next to me to say something, i would have my passenger just blow the air horn right in their face. nobody ever said anything back, probably because they thought they just got shot.

friend had a train horn, and those puppies are figgin loud... just make sure when you blast someone you have enough 'running room' to get away.. one of my GTG's on another forum (non-scion), a group of us was in arlington TX near the Ballpark, and one of the guys that had it installed on his truck decided to blast some one at a stop light, and he was a few trucks back.. Well lets just say there was alot of doors opening after the guys he spooked with his horns..almost broke his glass on his door trying to get at him... he didnt show up again for any onther meets... MORON!! lol... it was funny though... just becareful where and when you blast them... i wish i had that site that showed the horns balsting people... i think streetfire.net has the vids... cant rememeber,,,, check it out it's pretty funny... take care..

If anyone has a Harbour Freight near them, they have a 2 horn airhorn kit for sale for like 15 bucks, comes with compressor and all the wiring you need to install it too. Compressors about the size of a mayonaise jar.

Can you imagine a train horn that DID work when you set the alarm?

I'd get evicted!

I was actually contemplating this for a while but the fact that those train horns are so expensive I have chosen not to do it.. There are so many alarms in my neighborhood and there are so many that have air horns, the train horns would set my car aside from the others...

one alternative to the air horns is the Hella supertones. they're much louder than the stock beep-beeps. plus they're red and good looking.
