Default All Go, a little show???

So I have been approached by a dealer about getting my car sponsored and starting to do some work to have it in a show soon. My only concern is that my tC is my daily driver. I want to set it up in such a way that it has some deffinite styling improvements, but I want to keep the 17's im running now, keep the TRD springs im running, and just make it a ""road race"" car. I want to give it some mods that make it look like its ready to go SCCA club racing, not cruising down A1A. Does anyone have any ideas, pictures, links, etc??

well.. i would ditch the stock wheels first of all. find something wider and lightweight.

i'd think about upgrading the clutch/braking system to better support a race environment

next id talk to the one guy on here that already does race the tC. find out what kind of things work and what doesnt.

My 17's are not stock. I am running Falken C-Specs, they are pretty light and just slightly wider than stock...

rear/front sway, strut brace, weight removal

basically all bracing is going to help make the car more rigid and handle better, tuning the suspension is the most important part of autox, it allows you to enter/leave corners faster which obliviously improves track times. and keep good rubber on at all times

A vented hood and a front wind splitter... a wing for the rear, perhaps.

But like rozz said, to make an autox car you're going to be doing suspension stuff and, since you've already got the springs, there's not really much else that'll be visible for a show car.

Hey, if you wanna take an initiative, try talking to some company to custom make a rear diffuser or something to flat panel the whole undercarriage or something custom like that; you've got a dealership who'll spot you!

If you want to go SCCA club racing, you'll need to change your tires and wheels. Falken C-Specs are too heavy at 22.5 lb, that's more than stock. Ultimately you'll want something less than 18 lbs, no larger than 17x7.5, and a tire no larger than 225/45/17 with way more grip than your Ziex. Check out www.edgeracing.com for some ideas. Your stock struts are going to have to go as well, TRD struts would be good, Koni would be better. Sway bar(s) are a must, TRD or Progress rear bars are good, Hotchkis or Suspension Techniques front and rear bars are better.
