I was thinking about picking up some red vinyl or tint and cutting out a lil deviant face decal and placing it inside the white reverse portion of the tail lights.

I think it would be a neat mod. But I wonder what the chances of getting cited for something like that?

 

I don't know if this helps, but here you go

Tail lights that incorporate a bulb with a red tint or coating are illegal (custom tail lights that incorporate a clear outer shell and red inner lens are legal)

 

yeah.. that applies for where you need a red reflector really... they want people to see red when they look at the rear of your car...

they don't want completely clear tails that only light up red because of the bulb or something small that changes the color of that light.

his thing is the reverse light.... as long as it still shows white while you're reversing.. you're fine.

 

WE did that with our 69 Camaro with the Metallica Scary dude transfer that cam withthe big video box way back in the day........got pulled over pretty quick and fix it ticket..........but it looked really good.......cop even thought it was cool...........jsut not legal.........LOL

 

uhhh.. you would only see if when you're reversing right? that part that lights up?

don't see why anyone would pull you over for that....

just as long as white is showing while you're reversing.... should be okay.
