Default Anyone with Headlight Armor or thinking bout them!

hey guys. some of you may remember WAY back almost 2 years ago! i was one of the 1st tC's with Headlight Armor Stealth Smoke 20% film.

this was my original post back in 9/19/05.
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...t+armor+armour
well, why am i posting now you might ask?

Hair line cracks!
the tail lights are fine...i actually chose to remove the film from the tails and do VHT nightspray for a cleaner look.

but...i did NOT remove the film from the headlights because i noticed hairline cracks all around the edges of the Headlight now i know what your gonna say..."Heat issues" and "the film wasnt letting heat out, causing the cracking"
that may be true and i even believe that...but man, that sucks! LOL
No where does it say "warning dont leave these on for over 1 year or cracking may occur"
its looks horrible, so i left the film on there to kind of cover the cracking until i can BUY new headlights to replace these.

so, here is my RE-Review on Headlight Armors Stealth Smoke Film.
Headlight Armor Customer service buying experience is GREAT. very helpful people and yes, i dare say, great product they are selling! i would buy again...if this didnt happen.
i am very happy with the way my car looks when the film is on and i have gotten MANY compliments because of them.
i do...hightly recommend them for anyone wanting to protect the headlight from rock and damage ...but not longer than 1 year!!!

This post is not me Crying bout something that I personally installed am blaming them for...just a warning to anyone who has them installed or was looking to buy them.
They surved their purpose, and i would rather NOT have had cracking happen!

*(I Will have some Pics of the cracking posted up tomorrow, if anyone is interested)*

Did you follow the right process to maintain the integrity of the cover? Some of those come with instructions that say at least once a year they must be treated with some kind of vinal protectant.

about 4 months after install i found a good vinyl cleaner and protectant...and used it a few time.

it seems kinda redundant...your using protectant, on a protectant. anyways.. yes i took care of them.

sciontc313, i thought the same thing..it LOOKS like glue.
actually hair line cracks ALL around the edge and some in the center of the plastic...Looks really bad.
