Default bad weather stripping

I was driving down 95 south yesterday and closed my sunroof, and all of the sudden it sounded as if something was dragging under my car. So i quickly pulled over and got out of my car and noticed that the weather stripping that runs across the windshield and sunroof had raised up to look like a arch across the top of my roof. The weather stripping came up, wtf??? I took it to the dealership and they said that maybe the piece is worn out. Now how can a piece wear out that fast and what did i get myself into purchasing this car??? This is the 5th issue that I have had with this car and i have only owned it 3 months.........

Is anyone else out there having this may problems??

1. Sunroof rattling
2. Rear hatch rattling
3. Glove box rattling
4. Brakes squealing
5. And now the weather stripping!!!

honestly i open my sunroof probably 15-20 times a week. The glove box was considered disformed. brakes were resurfaced at 6500 miles. btw have you ever seen anyones hood shift? My hood was perfectly alined when i purchased my car and now it is raised on the backend of the passanger side? I have not hit anything, now do i open the hood often.

i am so ____ed about this, bc the lines on the tc are so clean this puts a damper on it!! the dealership said that i must of hit something, but i never have!! There is no paint damage and no damage to any mounts. I have not hit anything with my car, this is my first brand new car and i am doing everything i can to keep crap away from it. I am starting to think i might of got a lemon, which my service tech joked about!!

thats not funny
you shoulda kicked him!!!

you can go back to the dealer, and ask for them to have the regional rep be present for this situation, or contact scion customer service and they will open a case # and try and get this resolved

back to the weather stripping, is it common for the weather stripping to do this? I open my roof 15-20 times and week and it has only been 3 months and it has gone bad. is this going to happen every three months, or is there something that can be done to prevent this from happening over and over again?

if i saw it in person i could give you a fix or a solution, but i can't help you better without seeing the issue at hand

that i understand. let me try this. picture the weather stripping on the tc between the windshield and the sunroof, now imagine that piece only being contected at the corners and all of the middle standing up looking like a rainbow. probobly doesn't help but it is worth a try.

they said that weather stripping looked good, but maybe it just wore out. kinda contradicting. they are ordering a new piece and when it comes in they are supposed to give me a call so i can stop by and have the new one installed.

Great news, the weather stripping is attached to the windshield which the dealership is saying that they are going to have to replace that also, bc the olds of the window not breaking upon repair are slim!!! This is getting old really fast.

see most of the time people read all these horror stories and think that they have alot of problems and that they got a lemon. like me, i have had numberous problems with my car...but now everything is fine, i just thought, and still think that i got a lemon. but you my friend, you did get a LEMON...

also, is it normal for my brakes to "lock" up when i am driving? like ill be going ten miles per hour...i push the brake pedal slightly, and the calipers close all the way, giving a sudden jerk..has happend three times
