Body Kits... poor quality??
Sup everyone... first time poster here looking for some help from your experiences.
I have a 2005 Silver Scion tc and it's a little banged up.
I went to a body shop yesterday to replace my bumper/side skirt from earlier ____-ups. Then I thought 'if I'm replacing half the sides anyway I may as well get a body kit'. So I talk to the body shop guy and he goes on a long ___ rant about how all of these aftermarket fiberglass kits are very tough to install, taking a few hours of messing around, and they never fit and always crack in certain spots, and they last about a year. He made it sound like I'd be up ____ creek in 6 months if I decided to get anything other than stock.
However this guy could've been talking from a few bad experiences or from working with ____ty parts... and besides, Scions are designed for aftermarket alteration. So I figured I'd ask you experts on the forum.
I'm looking for advice regarding getting a body kit for my Scion. I'm planning on driving it another 50k miles, so I would like my kit to last at least that long. If any of you have any kit recommendations, let me know. Also, what's a decent ballpark price to have 2 bumpers/side skirts painted and installed? I don't want to get gipped.
Thanks a lot everyone

Thanks for the replies, helped me narrow down my search.
Now it's between the Kaminari and the M-Power body kits. I've read that the Kaminari is really easy to install and always fits perfectly. Sounds awesome, exactly what I'm looking for. I'd rate the front a 6/10 though, so I've been salivating over the M-Power. But I haven't been able to find anything about the M-Power in terms of installation difficulty. And I figure there are probably some things I don't know about either that could swing it either way. Anyone have any advice when choosing between the two?

i've heard of the m-power having filament problems going in. viniati(sp?) as a m3 style front bumper that is suppose to have perfect filament. imo, an m3 front bumper with the kaminari sides and rear looks awesome
For bodykits, the shop was right when they told you there are issues. I have the kaminari kit, and till have issues, and its the best on the market. I cant imagine aything else!!!
Fitment is not perfect on the kaminari, but pretty darn good for a bodykit!!

one word of advice, do NOT do any flush molding on any parts to blend them in your car.. You will (if you drive the car) at some point develop spider-web cracking in it. I had a wicked body kit on my porsche 944, and after about 4 years, there were minor cracks and hairline fractures. While flush molding provides the absolute cleanest look.. its a real b1tch when you need to do ANY repairs to it, stress provided from driving will also show its wear on the car.
Anyways, as others said kami makes some of the premier parts for the car.. check out this dude named ReeSpeed on here for your kami parts.

If you are looking for a direct replacement to spice your car up a bit more... i would go kaminari or maybe that m3 bumper that they say installs in like 15 minutes.
