Default Cheapo Projectors Fix time

Ok so I bought the projectors they offer on ebay, but I bought them through Viniati thinking that maybe they'd be better. Wrong! They fog up like no other. So what can I use to seal the puppies up better? Second, I was supposed to send out my second set of these to BlueBat because he's gonna make overlays but I had some issues and had to put it off. But tomorrow they'll be in the mail so soon we'll have smoked side markers and eyelid overlays for these headlights. Third, I'm going to bake them and fix the cutoff (which isn't all that bad) as well as maybe solder in superflux leds for the angel eyes. And finally I would really like to go HID but is that not possible with these headlights? The housing says not designed for HID but neither is the stock housing right? and people put HID's in those....any help would be great and thanks ahead of time.

I think if you are going to bake the headlights apart, you might as well get some quality projectors and make them... not "cheapo" but practical projectors.

I wish I could afford to do that right now but I'm sure that's expensive and not practical since I already purchased aftermarket lights and what not...

I am in the same exact situation except I bought mine off themodcity not viniati. It sucks when you dish out extra money thinking that you're gonna get a better product and in the end you get screwed. I don't know the first thing about baking headlights so I'm gonna just seal mine up with silicone to stop the fogging and hope for the best.

you should of just did a real retro with your stock housings instead of buying the ebay junk. Its not going to be cheap, and im not sure on how your going to fix the cutoff. Dont put HID's in those projectors, it will not look good at all!

My headlights also fogged up. So I spent many hours trygin to fix them without baking them. I used a hair dryer to attempt to dry them out and then applied silicone to basically everywhere I could where it was the cause of the possible leak. However, after 6 hours they still fog up. Not as bad as before but it is still there. I only think baking the headlights are going to fix this problem. And regarding the HIDs for these, I put them in my ebay projectors and they work good and look great. I have had nothing but compliments on they they look. So put them in!

If you truely put silicone on your headlights already, good luck trying to bake them apart again. Silicone is made to resist very HIGH temperatures, so just to warn you before you melt something else... as for hid in those projectors, do you have a thread with pics?

You're right about silicone's heat resistance. So, you cannot break up silicone by baking, but it is very soft. You can just use a knife and run through it or just pull the headlights appart. Silicone can be a good sealant, but is is not strong. Well, depending on which type you use. After a retrofit, I use a clear silicon (weather and water resistance). When I need to open them again, I just run a knife through it and bake the head lamps, then open them w/o a problem.
