Default Experiment time.... Waxing the Windshield

Ok guys dont start biting your nails yet.. i did this experiment on my other car an 87 Chevy Celebrity.. now its my beater car i take care of it cuz its my daily driver.. but iv been wondering for such a long time on how or what this would do .. i wanted to do this for a while and i just missed like 4 solid days of rain to do the test... so i got to it today.. i used Mothers Original Carnuba Wax and did the whole windowshield it went on very rough but started going on much easier.. and then let it haze and took it off with a microfiber towel.. now from before to after i noticed the rain spots there were rain spots on my windsheild that just dont go away but doing this is got rid of some and lightened all the spots on the windshield.. and also wiper marks for where the wipers wipe.. they make distingushed lines.. those are now gone also.. so im just waitin for some rain so i can go and test it all out and see what happens.. now i know some of u are asking why didn't i just use the Rain X stuff.. well truth is i did at one time before on another car and again no not the tC nor the Celebrity.. my old camaro ( also and 87) anyways it makes my windshield wipers kinda jump across the windshield.. which did't clean away the water.. no good visibility... so whenever i get to go out and drive in the rain and see how everything works.. ill come back to let you all know how it turned out.. if eveything is well ill be doing my tC and my entire family's cars.. also i know u tC owners know how the front is like a wall for bugs the front bumper and windshield just catch all them bugs and splatter everywhere..so im hoping another coat of wax on the front bumper and mirrors will help make gettin the bugs off easier.. ill report back to you after i can test this experiment again.. ttyl all bye

I've always wondered how that could work out, especially with the whole glass-roof deal.

If I am out of rainx I always use one of the wax rags I wipe off with to go over the windows. Works great.

it works great on the roof, i used a buffer today to apply the wax, and to remove it. I also claybar'd the glass as well to remove any contamintes. Looks like new, and has a very smooth finnish

Extremely good cleaning of the glass (a glass polish like "Glass Wax" is what I used to use), then a good hard wax applied, used to work very well for me.

These days I start with very clean glass, then put on a good coat of Rain-X and put the Rain-X washer additive in the windshield washer fluid so I can 'recoat' at will where the wipers tend to wear it off. Works great in the rainy Seattle area...

I've tried both and prefer the rainX. Rainx makes the water just run right off. The wax makes the water bead nicely but plenty of water just stays there so its still blocking my vision.
