Default Filling hatch holes

Hi I'm pretty sure this topic has been asked before but I tried searching (honestly I think the search is broken it almost never seems to find what I'm looking for) so I figured I'd make a thread. I'm considering replacing my pedestal spoiler with the Kaminari one but from what I know it will leave holes in my hatch. I know I can try to find someone with a hatch I want and possible swap but I doubt that would be very likely so I'm probably going to have to get the holes filled. So my question is...

About how much does that process usually cost? Just a range or an estimated price would be nice Thanks guys.

all shops are different, give them a call in your area.

which kaminari are you referring to? if it's the flush mount then you will need to cover the holes but if it's the wing I thought the holes would just get covered up?

It is going to be different from shop to shop but my friend paid like $900 to get some holes filled on his eclipse and a new spoiler put on. So you can knock some of that off but it is still a good amount of money.

^^Yea without the new spoiler install and paint, it would have been like 300 to 400. They did an awesome job though matching the color because his color is kind of hard. He told me it was 900 or 800 for everything.

I was refering to the wing. I don't think the wing covers up the holes from the pedestal spoiler.

Wow those prices seem like a lot. Even for like 4 little holes?

kami wing does not cover pedestle holes.....this I know fro sure.....try to find someone to trade hatches before spending the money to fill the holes, they get a free spoiler and you get lack of holes....win win there.

Yeah i'm trying to get rid of my pedestal spoiler too. It just looks cleaner and its a hell of a lot easier to clean, polish, and wax without the spoiler being in the way.

Haha well I'm trying to get rid of mine to stick another spoiler on But yeah I can imagine how much easier it would be to clean without a spoiler. It does look pretty smooth without one too.

It is 4 bolts. It's a pain to get off. I removed all the bolts, but that damn 3M tape on the mounting areas is on there!

If your hatch is in good shape maybe talk to one of the dealerships in your area. If they have a used tC in the same color they may do a swap as long as its an OEM Pedestal. They will be able to mark it up and it really cost them nothing, with a little convincing you should be able to do it.

Just a suggestion.

That won't work..I am sure they won't take it thats why I never bothered..

cause the hatch have the VIN sticker on it so..they most likely won't take it..plus they really don't make much money out of it.

Yeah I assume the labor of swapping it would be enough to deter them.
