Default fixing dents on door

since last winter I have had 2 dents' on my driver side door.. They are driving me crazy. So this weekend I'm going to try getting them fixed, I'm going to the auto parts store and getting what i need to fix it myself.

they are 2 dents the size of a penny . I'm going to sand down the area, then apply as many thin layers of bondo till everthing is smooth and even. . I will take pix during the steps to show your guys...

but i do have a question for everyone, that has done this before, Do you have any advise for a 1st timer with body work ?

Have a professional do it. That's my best advice.

if you apply bondo, you're gonna have to get your entire door painted...

it would probably be cheaper to do paintless dent removal

Not just paint the entire panel...Blend the paint too, bring it to an auto body shop

before you do anything, try buying some dry ice, and use it to pull out the dent. When metals are expose to extreme low tempurature, it contracts and obsoletes the dent. I saw the use of this method on youtube. Search for the video. It's pretty cool

Depending on how bad they are pdr may be able to get them out. Best advise take it to a shop...no offense but one of the worst things about my job is trying to repair somebody elses attempt at fixing it, plus you would have to take it to a shop to get it painted anyhow. If the are in the center of the door it wont be to bad because you could blend within the panel but if its towards the edge they would have to blend into the next panel to make it look right. So after all that just take it to a shop.

thanx for the advise guy. but i'm not worried about paint right now. but taking it to a body shop is not an option right now.. I can't go a week with out my car. as i need it to go back and forth to work.

the paint part doesn't bother me as much at the dents.. i have been trying to find a used door, but can't seam to come across any.. ..
