Really want to see this thing work, could open the door for some new rear bumpers for our rides!

 

I like the idea of a rear diffuser, Here is a sketch of a design i had come up with, Of course without the use of a wind tunnel or expensive engineering software anything will be more for looks than function.

that doesnt look bad at all. only problem is that most of us are not running dual exhausts and the way you drew it so far it looks like we'll have to cut our bumpers.

Kanchi are you using abs plastic? If so where do you source it and how easy is it to bend?

 

Theres a place out here called tap plastics http://www.tapplastics.com/ and they sell it in whatever size you want. It comes in a multitude of sizes and thickness so i thought i would start with a smooth plate and go from there. And Tyler no on using Michaels...I found out what its for and saw the cost... *gulp* plus it sits way too low.

 

Sweet they're near us for the tech day, too bad Michaels is not an option, I mean, it's not really for our purpose and yeah it does sit *way* too low.

So we got one most of the way done today. Its fitted we just need to cut out a piece for the pass. side on the other side of the exhaust, and make some support rids for the front & corners of the panels, all in all looks like it was around $60 and we have enough materials to make at least 1 if not 2 more....I am documenting how we did this and will supply pics when either I get mine done or Allen allows, as it is his car the first diffuser will be on.

 

Dude thats awesome your doing this Erik! I so wish i was there. I miss the tech days so much and going up to your parents and getting some MT Pilchuck burgers!
