I have a fairly progressive tint on my tails right now to color match my car. While the state troopers haven't pulled me over (one was tailing me today and gave me a thumbs up on the car lol), I'd like to have some brighter tails/brake lights to counteract the tint (specially during the daytime glare).

I've done some searching but haven't found anything solid as to what people are using. I was looking at LEDS but they dont seem as bright as standard bulb. Is there a super bright 7443 bulb for the brake/tail that we can use to replace the mediocre stock?

Any advice would be great appreciated!

i think jlevisw.com has some really bright led bulbs, they beat the crud outta stock, im not sure if they're available in that size though...take a look

 

LED lighting for the rear can be very iffy. Most LED replacements are substantially dimmer than the regular bulb. If your tails are tinted, LED's would only make your problem worse. There was a good website that discussed this in depth, but I read it a LONG tima ago and wouldn't know where to find it...

Just curious, why did you tint your tails if you're worried about the lights being bright enough? It seems kinda odd to me.

Experimentation, Dear Watson.... You never know how it looks until you have it on your car. I'll try to get some pictures up today. So far I've had no problems, I've seen a few vettes around here that were blacker than my own (like literally solid) talked to a trooper when I was stopped for lunch and he said he really liked how it looked lol.. Texas is usually finicky about those sort of things but he said as long as the people behind you can see the signal/brakes it's acceptable... At night it's still very bright.. usually diminished in the daytime a bit, but not too bad.
