Exclamation Has anyone tried LED bulbs in their VRDs or headlights??

I am planning on installing VRDs as well as the OEM Fog lights ( with 3k xenons ). Due to the issue with having too much current running with 3 sets of lights on at night I am looking to reduce current and I know LEDs are perfect for that. I am not sure the aftermarket technology has matured yet to the point where i can use a pair of 9006 LED emitters and have decent results as comparable to halogens? Has anyone tried LED Headlight or Fog light bulbs? I found a few examples at autoillumination.com : Looks robust enough but at $24 a pop i don't know!

LEDs in the VRDs has been done. Not that bright if I remember correctly but they look good. Then again even halogens in VRDs don't put much light on the ground.

Why are u running two sets of fogs. ? Way to much going on IMO..I'd toss the oem and run the vrds but yes the LEDs aren't very bright but will work..so just depends on the output u want

They look like multi-piece BBS wheels or similar.

I am going to Lamin-X the OEM fogs with a dark tint to help them blend into the grill. I agree too much going on with 2 sets of fogs. But I do need the lighting. So consensus is VRDs don't focus the light well even with halogen bulbs?

LEDs are nice, look nice, but are sh-crap when it comes to usable output. you'll barely see a thing.

afaik, it's illegal to run that many sets of lights on the front of your vehicle. check your local and state laws to confirm.

I agree that both sets of fogs isnt going to look good

also if you did run both sets each with their own HIDs, you really wont have any problems as long as you use a relay. HIDs actually draw less current than halogen bulbs once they are warmed up.
