So im trying to remove the pedestal spoiler and i already unscrewed the 4 nuts on the inside, what im having trouble with is the double sided tape. Ive been using a hair dryer and fishing line and then i hit the bolts. So after i take off some of the tape should the spoiler just pop off with the bolts coming out??

 

Just keep working at it. The tape has been heated and reheated time and time again, not to mention it's supposed to last the life of the car.

 

Damn alright so after working on the tape and around the bolts it should just kinda come off?

 

Yes there's nothing else holding it on.

 

Alright and i can just use bondo and filler to fill the holes right?

 

If you have to ask, I wouldn't recommend attempting it yourself. Personally I'd have it professionally welded, bondo'd, and painted.

Yeah I am actually, i just havent posted it on the classifieds yet, im trying to get the double sided tape off. Its ssm and im selling it for 110

 

I am planning on to remove the pedestal spoiler and putting on a front lip spoiler to give it a cleaner look. Can someone explain briefly how to remove it? I would appreciate the help.

 

as noted above.. unbolt.. and yank it off..

there is strong 3M double sided molding tape.. so you'll need some elbow grease.

 

Yeah all you do is remove the interior trunk pieces, remove the 4 nuts, use a hair dryer to heat up the tape, then use fishing line or whatever to cut through the tape. Then just pull it off, i might take 2 people to do it and you'll have 4 holes left over

 

I know this threads a year old but how did you guys get to the 4 nuts? i barely got to the ones on the passenger side and i was using a crecent wrench to losen it till i could unscrew it with my own fingers...
