Default HID conversion help

Noob here and I need some help. Let me give you some basic info before I get to my question. I've got a 2006 tC in black which I purchased new back in August of 2007. It's a great car and I've got a few factory mods on it. I'll post some pics later.

I recently got into a low speed accident and broken the front left headlight and fog lights. The front left quarter panel is also a little banged up and will need some work. I've got some insurance money and since I'm fixing it up I've decided to upgrade to HIDs. I found this website - http://www.ilovebodykits.com with some HID lamps that I like and are in my price range.

So here are my questions:

1. Will these work?
2. Will it look rice?
3. If these suck, can you suggest any other HID kits?

Thanks for your help guys!

Every headlight you buy from that website will be crap.

You'll run into one or more of a few possible issues:
- all LEDs will burn out
- will fog like crazy (bad seal)
- crappy optics for the projector

One or more of those WILL happen with every one of those lights.

If you want HID, you have 2 real options... one is to get some 2008+ OEM headlamps. They'll be leagues better than any aftermarket garbage. They're still not "awesome" but much better than anything else you'll find like that. Second option is to retrofit... you can do this yourself if you're confident enough or lookup a site like Lightwerkz.net if you want to pay someone else to do it.

So if I get the 2008+ OEM headlamps I still have to get some kind of conversion kit for the HIDs, right?

yes you will need to get a HID conversion kit. I just got a 5000K kit from here:

^ Like mentioned, ya, you will still need the HID bulbs... there are MANY kits available in our Sponsored Sales forum... pretty much just take your pick.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I've been quoted about $210 each for the 2008+ headlamps from my local Toyota dealership. Is there any place online that is cheaper?

And, how much better (if any) is the light output from the 2008 lamps vs the 2006s? Are HIDs going to be much better than the OEM projectors with silverstars installed?

Listen, getting the HID kit is the EASY part. Go to the classified section and get a set of HID's for 56 bucks. I paid 60 for mine and I thought THAT was cheap. I bet those Silverstars you have weren't much cheaper than that new were they?

The 2008+ headlights are projectors. (Think BMW) They focus the light much better than the normal headlamps in previous years. Whereas like mine (2005 headlights with HID's) look a bit like a broken glass mess at night. And no, brand new you probably won't find the projectors for much less than that.

How about the Anzos? They look pretty awesome and they're cheaper than OEMS. Quality-wise are they any good?
