I would much rather get a very sensitive security system than put those "things" on my hood. I understand that it is to keep your HID's safe, but man, those things are ugly. Relocate the cable, get a security system, but hood locks? I guess Scions are all about personalization.

well do you have a pager for your alarm?...if so your good but if you dont they could still get to them if they wanted to jus by popping the hood open and cutting the wire to the siren.

I park my car all the time on Wyman St, right near the corner where Pimentel Mkt is at.

the NE (NJ, NY, PA, MA, CT area) is known for kids stealing HID to resell. they stole mine S4 just for the HID, cops found it a week later in newark NJ. if you check the forums, its a very common problem. sometimes up to 5 reports in a week. the shop i went to was backed up with repair jobs from this, reported 25 cars a month.

at first they would steal the car (the bi-turbo s4 was fun to drive and easy to steal), later they just rip the headlight assembly out of the car, most of the time damaging the hood and bumper. this happened to other car types too.

then i moved out of that god forsaken place.
