Hi all,
I bought an HID kit, not from Mobile HID but from someone else here on SL, the bulbs that came with that kit have a purpleish tinge to them so no matter what temp I get them at, I got them at 4,300 right now, they still look purpleish same with the output light. I did notice a difference going from 8,000 though but not as drastic as I was expecting.

My question is, do any of you see the 5,000 kit a solid white with barely a hint of blue or is it white with a hint of purple? Because I am willing to get something else to get the look I want.

I want to the most visible light but I also like the look of the blue so I think if it actually has some blue the 5,000 will be the best compromise.

Oh, I have a 08 tC, forgot to include it earlier.

I don't know I have 4300k too, on the road it is pure white for me. Now on the cut off it has a blueish purple color. That is just from the projector. I don't think 5000k would change anything but I don't since I have never put them in.

Cliffud from MobileHID is unresponsive on my problems with my kit. As of this time, I would suggest NOT getting a kit from MobileHID. I am ____ed.

Well mine is from 3bspec. I have tried 8000k, 6000k, 5000k and now 4300k. The light has progressively gotten whiter, but its still not completely white even with 4300, I've seen other cars and mine looks as if I had a 6000k kit. The light on the road look blueish white and the light looking at the projector looks like a purpleish white.

That's why I was asking about a kit from someone else. Don't get me wrong though the light output is amazing compared to stock but I would like a slightly different look.

now i have 8 k.. looks just like a 6k !!!
when i had 6k i compared them with benz.. they looked yellowish compared to my 6k which was white!

now my bro has 12k and it looks like an 8k! really weird. my friend has 10k and thats blue as hell

4300 white with a hint of a yellow
5-6k : white
8k: white with a hint of a blue

10: blue

12: blue/prusple

30 : purple

It all depends on what headlight you have, he was asking about them in the projectors which changes the color a lot. For 4300k in the projector there is no yellow. It is hard to get a lot of color out of the projectors. For the reflective housing headlights it is easier.

did you get some bootleg ebay HIDs? my friend did that and ordered some 5K HIDs but they look more blue than anything else. He thought he got some Xentecs but they ended up being those fake ebay ones.

^^More than likely that is why. I have 4300k and they look blueish from the projector but are pure white on the road.

Just fyi, it's completely unnecessary to take off the front bumper for a HID install.

But sweet engine bay.

OH and I have 6k in my projector style 08's and it's my favorite mod so far.

I want to put 4300k in some OEM fogs if anyone will sell them to me for a good price.

thats due to the projector though thats y it has the blue/puplr tint at certain angles, cause if u put regular 4300's in non projector headligths its white
