Default HIDs Choice and help

Well Do I need hids for my high and low beams or just low?
I read the HID sticky above this but didnt see anything about it. I have a 2006 so they dont have halos. Im wanting a white or purple hid.. Maybe a retrofit?

What is the cheapest way and the nicest way?

HIDs are not meant for our cars and will cause glare. There are ways of reducing it but its just not made for our headlights (this includes the reflector or the newer projectors). The ideal solution is to do a retrofit, this insures that its uses components that are specifically designed for HID use. This will provide the best output and widest beam, depending on the projectors/ lens combination.

The cheapest and easiest way is just install an plug and play HID kit. I bought a slim ballast from DDMTuning.com They come with a lifetime warranty and are not to shabby for the price, I personally bought the 4500k color (closest to pure white, which is 4300k, most usable color) If you want a little more blue, step up to 6000k anything above that is personally tacky to me and will be a real cop magnet.

If you decide to go the retrofit route, Acura TSX projectors are one of the most popular and arent to expensive for a pair. You can either retrofit them yourself if you're familiar or pay a service to do them for you. Here are two that come to mind http://www.lightwerkz.net/ and http://www.advancedlites.com/

If you want an example of a retrofit done exceptionally well, heres Yanki01's HID Retro

Feel free to ask any questions, someone will be happy to help you

Honestly, im not a fan of that. Thats just a big safety no-no in my book. I haven't driven with them, but a few friends of mine have tinted theirs and have to drive with their high beams due to the lack of clarity. Plus im pretty sure its illegal.

Yes glare would be a problem still if you tinted. Kinda stupid to tint headlights and put HID's in them, would negate the work of the HID. You can go with 12K HID's but you won't be able to see crap. Retrofit is the only decent thing you can do with 06's.

WTF? You can put a shroud over the stock headlamp inside. It doesn't work like that. And once again if you tint the headlights, you'll loose the advantages to having HID's in the first place (well besides going for purple that will make almost no decent light output. 4300K its optimal HID temp for light output) Tint won't get rid of the glare, you're not seeing how the headlamp in your car is designed for Halogen lights and reflect completely differently from an HID specific headlight. But hey, your car.

Will this work?

But installing hids with the tinted head lights should even itself out.

I'm done trying to tell you. Do what you want, but tinting the headlight will not reduce glare with an hid. And I'm guessing what you're trying to show there is a cheap ___ retrofit? If so those shields on ebay won't do much because you're cutting out the source of the light by that model.
