Default HIDs with Smoked Headlights?

Anyone seen anyone with HID's with Smoked Headlights. Ive got Headlight Armor's Headlight smoke kit on my tC and was gonna go the HID path probably with 10K or 12K really bright//blue lighting. Just wondering if they'll turn out dark but really blue or nice. Thanks for any pics or info in advance.

10-12k will not be bright at all! 10k will be all blue and the worst light output. While 12k will be purple and the same as 10k on output.

I'd bet that if you do run a smoked headlight with 10000K + HIDs, you're light output will be less than stock.

even without the smoked headlight will still be less output. But yea by putting the smoke headlight will reduce any light output maybe (guessing) 20%

If you're going for 10000K and up it's probably for looks, slapping a tinted overlay on your headlight is likely to get rid of a lot of that 'ooo pretty' effect.

good info. well im thinking of cutting out the segment where the actually headlight beams out. but its true HID's do usually fill the entire casing with Oooh Ahhh beautiful and I would love to see what the smoked look does. Its the lighter smoke overlay not blacked out so it could be ok?

Lighter would help.
I hadn't considered cut outs on the overlay...you could get pretty creative with that. Plus with carefull trimming, you may be able to eliminate some of the pesky glare.

I've seen a tC around here with what looked like about 10 or 12k HIDs. Well, he was tailing some other people on the road, and his lights barely lit up the truck just a few feet in front of them.

I really don't know what people would buy those. Why not just turn off your headlights at night? Same thing.

Not exactly, headlights that are turned off aren't purple.
