can the 12v+ just be the original "positive" from the blinker?

It's pretty straight-forward. Please note that I haven't tested this on a tC. But this works perfectly fine with Lancers, Galants, Civics, and Accord. If ya'll can find out if the tC has the same trigger (positive or negative) as with those cars, then it should work just fine.

EDIT: This only works when the parking lights are on. If you want to keep them running with the parking lights off, you would have to get a relay for that.

so we are putting a positive on each side of the bulb? i'm guessing thats a mistake.

^^ It looks like it is, but it's not. IDK how to explain but it's not a mistake. When I was learning how to do it, I thought it was a mistake too, but it works every time I connect it that way.

It's ok if you guys dont wanna do it. I'm just sharing my ideas... I would have done it to my car but I got angel eyes and I don't think it'll look nice if they were on at the same time.

yea i think that might work daskid. when i hooked up my side markers on my civic i tapped the + of the side marker to the + of the parking light then i tapped the - of the side marker to the + of the blinker light. it stayed on with the parking light on and blinked when the blinker was on.

Its not a positive on each side of the bulb. Instead of each individual bulb being a separate circuit, this makes it all one single circuit. I'll try to explain, a light bulb is basically a fuse (in a sense). Power comes in from the positive side, flows through the filament, then out through the negative side to ground. What this does is divert the power coming to ground from the first bulb and sends it to the positive side of the other bulb. Its called wiring in a series.

should you cut the positive side of the parking bulb?

Thats what im not sure of. Normally wiring in a series means that the ground from the first bulb is the positive for the 2nd bulb. The way Daskid has it written up shows that this is not the case...

3.) Tape the other end of the negative terminal for protection. You will not use it anymore.
4.) Splice and tap the other end of the wire to the positive terminal of the parking light. Again, splice and tap. Don't cut.
5.) Tape with electrical tape for protection. Or use a T-tap connector.
6.) Read disclaimer twice.
7.) Enjoy!

thumbs up for everyone so far.. thanks Oznium for putting up that diagram!!!!.... Can the 12v source be the POS from the parking(citylight) going into pin 30 ?

also the NEG coming out of the turn signal bulb you would cut it and ground the NEG from the bulb and then the other NEG that goes into the wire harness you would just tape up and not use correct??

also thanks Daskid for putting in your input also..

ill be trying both methods outs and will come back with the results.. and see if i can do a DIY or something seeing it has gotten some interest started here on SL.. ill take pics and give credit were its due to those who helped..

if anyone has a chance to do it before i do PLEASE post up your results or pics and which method you used..

Maybe someone with some more electrical experience can chime in here, but wouldn't this work?? When it says Original turn signal wires (Cut in half) I am referring to the one IN the side mirror only, not the one up front.

It would invert everything right?? When the light would normally be off, now they will be on, like requested, and the only difference would be the cycle of the turn signal would be 180 degrees out of phase. So when the turn signal would normally blink, now it is on it's off cycle, and vice versa.

If my thinking is correct, this would be a lot easier than the other method of running extra wires to the parking lights and cutting into those lights as well.

My idea only works if you have parking lights on. I suggest use Oznium's idea if you want those turn signal bulbs on all day and at night while driving. :D

well what you could do with Ozniums diagram is change the 12v source from the cigaratte lighter to the city light(parking light) as your 12v souce... That way when you turn your headlights on or those small parking lights on, your turn signals will ONLY turn on when the city light(parking light) is on..instead of a constant on when the head lights and parking lights are off.. CORRECT Daskid and Oznium?? here is Ozniums Digram but i changed the 12v souce to the parking light so you only draw 12v from that when its on....

OZNIUM: can you verify this diagram to make sure it is correct??

basically ... it should function normal when the head lights and parking lights are off blinking normally as a turn signal... but when those lights are on(headlight and parking).. the turn signal light will turn on and function as its normal blinker as well...

correct everyone?

Yes, that is correct. But you still have to verify if the tC has a positive or a negative trigger. Your set-up is for positive trigger. Reverse the polarity for a negative trigger. Connect the negative to Pin 86 wire instead of the positve wire coming from the turn signal circuit of the car. Then connect Pin 85 to a constant positive source (ie. ignition, or parking light). You can also put a fuse in between pin 87A and the POS of the bulb just for protection.

If the tC has positive trigger, then your circuit will work just fine.

can you modify my diagram to reflect exactly what you said?? im a tad lost in what you just wrote...

also i just looked at my wiring ....the white wire with the black line going through it.. is that the POS or the NEG.. the wire opposite of that was wither green or yellow.. im asuming the white wire with the black line is the NEG???

Here you go:

As for the wiring, I can't remember which is which. Usually, there's a common color of the wire for the left and right bulb, and that is the ground.

somebody needs to do this so we can put it to rest lol. if it looks good i might have to try it with a yellow bulb.

I did this on my last tC, it was fairly simple, however i do not know how it holds up in the long run, but im sure it would last.

All you have to do is take the parking light, take out the bulb(so it wont appear dim when lit because you will be stealing its power), then splice the hot wire from the parking bulb, run another wire from that splice into the turn signal hot wire.

this will allow you to have your turn signal bulbs (7440) be on at first click, and even when your headlights are on, and this will also cause the bulb to blink when indicated.

I do not know if this is good for hte bulb, because a 7440 is not meant to be used as a blinker/parking light because it only has one filament.

that easy huh? i might have to try this.

EDIT: i just tried this cause it sounded so easy and it didn't work. the bulb stayed on like it should but it did not blink at all when the turn signal was applied.

but i did find out that our turn signal is a positive trigger. i hooked the negative side of my dmm to the negative on the battery and the positive to each side of the signal plug(one side at a time to try and figure out which side was positive). and the multimeter would read 12 then nothing then 12 and on and on.

so that means positive trigger right?
