Iv been thinking about baking the headlights so i can change the corner marker.
but im alittle worried about sticking them into an oven baking at over 200 degrees.

Anybody NOT recommend i do this?
Or have you done it and worked fine, no problems what so ever?

 

it's fine. just don't leave it in there for too long.

 

what about the paint heating up after a period of time and starting to look funky

If you leave it in there for too long, just add sourcream and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Nah man its safe, just keep an eye on it.

 

kool thanks...i think im going to try and buy some stock headlights to do it to...just in case. that way i have my originals as backups

 

while your there, do a retrofit?

 

that would take mroe time.. make sure you dont have to have amber reflectors... yeah they say you can just have bulbs... but some states are really ___.

what exactly are you looking for, or is it more of a feel thing, just so long as the silicone is gooey enough to pry apart?

 

^^^^^^ well pretty much i was looking for how you guys felt about putting headlights in the oven..iv never heard of this before...and it just seems kinda risky/crazy. i cant decide if im willing to risk it or not

 

I wouldn't do it because theirs a possibility for CONDENSATION in your headlights afterwards....but hey if you want to take that risk...go right on ahead and open them. But if it does become condensated...you're going to have to go through the entire process again.

 

I thought that's how you smoke your headlights!
