i told you to smoke em... next step is get rid of that amber side marker...

you really should have taken them off of the car, it only takes about 20mins, which is probably what it took to tape up those towels.. you also should sand it first.

Now that you smoked them wetsand with a high fine grit and then you automotive compound and then use polish. Car polish makes dull tails extremely shiny. Keep it up.

It should do the same job protecting the paint. It might not be as glossy as you want (that's what happened to me when I used enamel clear coat on a lacquer paint the first time I tinted a set of tails from the junkyard). Personally I suggest using the lacquer clear coat on a lacquer based paint. 2 cans of Duplicolor Acrylic Lacquer Clear go for about $9.75-$10.

Well I sprayed the clear and now they're just dull. I used rubbing compound to try and make them shiney but no go. What do I need? >.<

Did you wet sand after you applied the clear? Buffing with rubbing compound by hand or machine. I told you which clear to use. But which one did you go with?

Nope I just used the rubbing compound after I shot the clear. I guess that would explain why it didn't get shiney haha. I'm buffing my hand too. I'm gonna go get some 2000 grid wetsand paper today and re clear the tails then buff some more

and then after the wetsanding use some turtle wax polish. It comes in a bottle that looks like the wax but it has a red top instead of a white one. A few uses of the polish will give them a mirror finish providing you wetsanded them...
