Keep the TYC's this way or change them?
Actually they're illegal because you are painting over the reflector. As long as you can still see the light from 500 feet away it's all good. I'm going to be selling mine that look like yours, and do them in a transparent BSP if that makes any sense. Well that was the plan before seeing the PS of the red all the way around even over the reverse. That's pretty hot!
My BSP was a little too dark. If you're going to do a transparent BSP or red make sure the paint is 8 parts the color you want (red, blue, black...whatever) and 2 parts clear. That's what makes it transparent. Make sure you thoroughly shake the paint up, so everything gets mixed together properly.
If I do the red I'll use red toner and DBC 500. It is PPG's inter coat clear (clear basecost, not the same as clear cost). If I do BSP I'll just over reduce it but I'm really liking that red!
So, are you using actual car paint when you said 8 parts paint 2 parts clear? would you be able to remove it using tint removal technique flea posted??
cause I would most likely screw it up first couple of times..
nbm tc any suggestions on what I should do to stock tailights?

^ I just noticed I made that mistake. Yes, actual car paint. What I meant to say was 2 parts the color you want and 8 parts clear. When I mix my tail light tint, I do 20% black PPG or RM paint mixed with 80% PPG or RM clear coat.
If you screw up follow my DIY on untinting tails in my signature. Personally on a NBM tC I would say do a light tint. Light enough so when the sun hits the tail light you can still see a hint of red.
