Default LED mirror turn signal ISSUES

I had the amber LED's swapped out for white ones but it took a while and had them off the car for quite some time. I had the connectors wrapped in electrical tape. But now that I got the both working I don't seem to be getting power to the drivers side. Passenger works perfectly though.

I don't think they are on their separate fuse or not that I saw, possibly tied into the front turn signals. The passenger doesn't work on the drivers either but going to check again to make sure.

Any ideas?

Is only the mirror signal not working? The front and rear are fine? I'd trace the wires and make sure nothing is disconnected or frayed.

Yeah both front and rear work fine. LED's in the front with resistor no hyperflash either. I guess I'll check them again, but from what I remember they didn't look damaged.

LEDs are polar. Are your LEDs installed correctly? Do you have access to a multimeter or voltmeter? This could narrow down the problem significantly.

I tested them to make sure they were installed correctly using a battery and lit up just fine. I need to check again to test the working one on the side with the problem. They should be able to at least get power on either side right? I might have a simple multimeter but I'm not sure.

The two sides should be different systems, so maybe each side has current flow in a different direction? Not sure on that one. Best bet is to pull it apart and check the volatges coming into the mirror. If you have power there, you can determine which way the current is going and rule out a problem outside of the mirror. That would be my first move.

Thanks man. I'll see if I have a multimeter or test light

No test light but I tried changing the Pside (that works) to the Dside with the problem and it works on the Dside. So I guess there's some problem with the mirror itself. But it lights up when connected to a 12v source so I don't know what is wrong with it.

I'm thinking the only possible way this isn't working is if the polarity somehow got switched when installing the new LEDs. Its possible that when testing it with a 12 volt source you are hooking it up in the correct manner, but when hooking to the car power that it is reversed.
I dont know how the mirror plugs(sockets/wiring?) connects to the mirror, but try hooking it up the other way to reverse polarity?

Ah, I didn't think of that. I'll have to test that out. I'll test my working one and compare it to the non working one to see if the orientation is off.

Thanks.
