Yes...its called a moderator doing its job. We try to keep the forums as clean as possible and if the post has been posted before we will lock your post and direct you to the existing thread...

Its part of the rules...

then maybe you should do something about the search engine so people don't start new post. or make the post easier to find. just a suggestion

The issue is that the search is not very user friendly. It does not group by closest match first. An example.. when I create database search functions they sort by exact phrase, then containing all words, then all but one.. and so on.

To make your searches work better and not return a million things, use the booleans in all caps.... tC AND intake AND CAI for example will return posts containig all of those words.

What if there is a previous post found via the search that is really outdated. Is the topic never allowed to be discussed again?

you may think your funny guess what your not. You think people want to spend an hour trying to find something in your search engine or start a post and get a reply that could answer his/her question in ten mintues. I'll bring it up again if the search engine is so easy to use why is there a post on how to use it?

If you post on the old thread it is no longer outdated. It comes back to life.

You know..thats a good question...

If you feel the previous post is outdated then more than likely the new post that you make will be kept alive. Part of being a moderator is making the right judgement (at least part of my moderating habits) and If i realize that the old post is outdated (the defenition of outdated varies) I will not lock it but let it be...

If it has the information you need, then maybe you should bump it for others with the same problem. If it never answered the question, then post again. Nobody will fault you for posting a question that was never answered. But things like "Why is my car whistling?" and "When is the supercharger coming out?" get old after the 100th time.

the reason there is a how too search...

not everyone was born with the knowledge of all things on the internet.
not everyone is a techno-nerd and can figure out things on their own.
the 'how to' was put together as a guide to show you examples of how easy it is...

if you are one who does not like to read instructions (as evident because you didn't know it was there) just click the red search button and have at it....
you can find all you answers in under 5mins...much faster than waiting for a response that will most likely be....'use the search'...

the more you use it the better you will get...
also the more you read in the proper forum for your question the less you will need to ask...

Your going in circles bud. but you know better than any one that i don't read.

Listen hear high and mighty most likey i read more than you. Personal i don't think you read so well but thats just my opinion which i know don't matter to you.

Simple...Learn how to search..

Second...this should have been posted in the website discussion not the TC general forum..

Third...Just read the rules, learn how to search and if you have any questions or problems you can send an e-mail to our Administrator"boss" Admin@scionlife.com
