Default mirror re-attaching

I don't know if this is the right forum....

Anyway, my driver's side mirror is hanging off (the whole thing, not just the actual glass). A pole bumped into my car

Besides hanging off, it seems fine otherwise (so I don't think I need a whole new piece, and this shouldn't involve anything electronic - it's still attached in that way), but it needs to be bolted on or something. It won't snap back on. My step-dad thinks some screw or plastic panel part inside is broken. He said if I could get those parts and instructions to reattach he could do it.

Is there some kind of diagram out there to re-attach a mirror (or to attach a new one) for a 2006 Scion TC? I need to see how and what parts may be needed to reattach it.

Thanks.

pop off the little triangle plastic cover on the inside of the door. and there are 3 10 millimeter nuts to tighten it with.

Okay, I found out on another board it probably needs 3 10mm screws and a plastic mounting bracket replaced. Are mounting brackets just generic pieces or do you need specific ones for a TC?

And yeah, tape is a no go. It's way too heavy for tape and it might ruin my paint (ack!).

The only thing you're going to be able to do is replace it. Try to find one in a junk yard if needed and just swap the colored covers - or buy a new one. You're looking at around $150 or $160 for a full replacement. They do not sell the parts for them separately.

Yeah I had to buy a new one. The inner mounting part was too cracked to glue it - the edges didn't fit evenly, and so the screw couldn't stay in well.

I got one for $100 here ($12 shipping), with matching color: http://www.ftoemperformance.com/. These instructions w/photos were really helpful: http://mikeandlisa.wordpress.com/200...t/#comment-783

It took like 5 minutes to put on. Very easy.
