I got a PM from Jim saying that the xD/FIT scoops are less than 2 inches high but because of the angle-back design they look taller, he's going to make the tC one (first one) 1inch tall and we'll work from there.

 

Think of how much more power the wiper motor will have with all that cold, rammed in air! :p

Looked at where the cowl would send air. It doesn't directly open into our engine bay. It looks like it would take a lot of cutting to make it even work. Looks cool but hard to make it functional.

 

I had the cowl off to make the template for Jim, all that i'd need to make it functional is to take out the drivers wiper motor (already wanted to do that like I said, for the one wiper conversion) and dremel out a little bit of sheetmetal.

When the whole project is finalized and I post up pics of the scoop feeding air directly to the intake, full CF cowl w/ driver wiper delete, people are going to make booboos in their pants. lol

 

Cool idea. Definitely watching

 

update, got some pics of the first prototype and I will be getting the scoop hopefully at some point this coming week to check fitment and such.

me either, cause when I get that and it fits good, coupled with the full CF cowl w/ driver wiper delete, nip the wiper motor, some sheet metal, and it will be the best mod.

Are you trying to make this a ram air type set up. If so I have a couple of questions. Where will the filter go? What happens if it rains? Let me know if I am jumping way ahead of you, just excited.
