odd marks on my hood area, plz take a look
not too long ago i found these marks on my car, mainly on the hood area. looks like water splashes cept it wont come off w/ normal wash. i do remember parking in a temporary parking zone overnight, and the next day there was this weird sticky crap all over my car, and i guess splashed onto my hood. then i neglected to clean it off til a week later. anyways take a look at the pictures, and let me know what i can do to get rid of it.
please excuse the uberly large pic, its the only way to show it

my roomy said the "sticky" stuff mightve ate my clean coat or something.

Clay bar first, if that doesn't work, then scratch x or cleaner wax, if that doesn't work then polishing compound.
If that doesn't work then you will have to go to rubbing compound (which will haze your clear coat because it is aggressive and is pretty close to wet sanding) so be careful. Once that is done go back over it with polishing compound to make the clear coat shine again.

looks like water etching from the pics... scratch x is only going to hide the problem not fix it. best bet will be to get a detailer or pick you up a random orbiter a wool pad, some compound, polish, and wax.. Water etching happens when minerals in water dries and literally etch the clear coat.

glad to hear you were able to fix it,concrete dust does that very thing to cars,it is the lime in it that etches the paint, basically you rubbed the clear coat down past the problems and repolished.
