Default odd question, idea?

i dont know why. but i came across the idea of maybe painting, putting vinyl on the roof... just color matched or something. it could be like on a bus, the see-through stuff, opaque on the outside. but you can see through it on the inside. there would not really be a point to this. aside from maybe privacy?

as i think about it. i think its foolish. i mean thats one of the unique things about the car is the entire glass roof. why cover it. but at the same time. if you can still see out of it and shock people even more when they get in and realize they can see out. but not in... why not?
most likely its a stupid idea. but oh well...

Actually that's an incredibly good idea, especially if it's not too hard to remove. It'd would be helpful in summer too to cut down on the heat.

im pretty sure it wouldnt be that huge a pain to remove... i mean they put it on bus' and then they change them up the next month. i know nothing about the stuff. if anyone does that would be good to post up... but ill kinda look into it an post up myself for anyone who might like to try this. (i personally love my all tinted glass roof. but might try it anyways just to be a pioneer with the car)

yeah thats what he meant. you can see out but not in. like the graphics on buses or graphic wrapped cars where all their windows are covered with a pic or something.

right auditory?

it wouldnt have to necessarily be mirror tint though. he wanted it color-matched.. so maybe he could go to place that does car wraps and see if they have that color vinyl? Nerek, do you know what im talking about? im pretty sure this is the type of vinyl he's talking about..

hope this helps!

It wouldn't be illegal. I think it's a great idea. I've had sun/moon rooves on my other vehicles and they sun really makes it hot inside them. I wish I would've thought of something like your idea AuditoryCheesecake.

I've been chewing on this idea since sometime aroud last september, but A. I never knew where to get the material, and B. since I live in florida I don't want the stuff to fade. Any one know about that info? I think it would look kinda cool.

haha wow. i thought i was completely alone in this. that bus picture is EXACTLY what i meant. its yellow, like the paint... you cant see in. but can see out. and if youve actually ever been in one of those busses it makes nice shade effect.

also, like i said. it would be a fun trick to have people think its just a solid metal roof, and have them get in and realize they can see out of it.

someone needs to do this, at least find out where and how much, it its even possible. anyone (rockblocker?) listening, it sounds like there might be demand for this...

I put an American flag w/ eagle on my fiancee's back glass on his ranger when i tinted his windows about a year ago. It made out of the stuff you're talking about. It is called Glass-scapes they have a web site --- http://glasscapes.com It is made from vinal and his a bunch of tiny holes in it so you can see through it. It is real easy to peel off if you ever need to take it off. I'm not sure about color matching but you could probably find out more info about it on their site or at a good local tint shop.[/url]
