Default OEM lip came with indentation, need advice

So I got my lip the other day and dropped it off to be painted. When I picked it up I saw a noticeable indentation on the top the size of my pinky. It's not very deep, but totally obvious now that it's painted and I don't want to put it on my car this way. It wasn't noticeable when unpainted because of how dull the plastic is. Could this have been anything besides a manufacturing defect? It's not like something fell on it and dented it. I have to deal with the place I bought it from so just getting an opinion now. I don't have pics yet, sorry.

The people who painted it might have dented it, i'd talk to them about it.

It's not really a dent, it's more like it was hot and something was gently pressed into it...the shop is actually trying to fix it for me, but they're not confident it will come out

I pick it up tomorrow so I'll have pics then. It's really noticeable because it's on the top in the middle.
