Default oem lip question

Does anyone know what the tabs on top of the lip are for? The lip won't fit without removing them. I can send a pic to anyones cell phone if you don't know what I'm talking about. Its kinda hard to describe it

you need to cut tabs into your oem bumper and they are clipped from the other side

Unless you plan on cutting off the tabs from the lip them yes it is necessary..if you aren't confident then take it somewhere to get it installed.

get your dremel and they have marks on the inside of your bumper to guide you exactly how wide and how long you need to drill the slits.

good luck just take your time and like you said it will be more secure with the clips.

Speaking of tabs, does anyone know of a place (online preferably) where you can get the white clips for the OEM kit? I'm sure the dealership can track them down but trying to avoid that.

its not necessary to cut your oem bumper, just cut the tabs off and use double sided tape, the tabs is just the way its suppose to be installed, but its like any other lip, double sided tape, screws on the ends, and voila!

yeah but i want to make sure it's really secure, don't want it to fall off randomly, know double sided adhesive works but not my choice

You will be surprise with that double sided tape. I taped my jp lip kit and the wheight of the whole car could rest on the lip and the tape never pealed.

did you just use like 1/4" 3M type stuff or what? Would rather have the clips but we'll see how hard/$ it is to get them...
