I def. don't consider myself an expert painter AT ALL, but I did paint the hood, fenders, front/rear bumper, side skirts, trunk, and tails on my old cavalier when I was 16.

No where near as good as flea, but I know my way around the spray gun a little.

Best pics I could find...

I miss that car...

From the looks of it the area he was working in looks pretty clean and at the time when he was painting looks like he had good weather on his side where as if it was pretty cold then yeah he would have runs depending on how he sprayed.

Too cold in a spray booth?! Spraying not in a non temperature controlled booth?! lol

Nice backyard (well in this case driveway) paint job. It looked pretty nice but I would imagine the close up pic is after being wet sanded and buffed.

I was actually worried they would, but they were all pretty cool about it.

I had no drips whatsoever, I practiced on junk pieces with the gun before I went at it. As far as dust particles, yes I did get a few here and there but most, if not all, came out with wetsanding. I made sure to wet down the driveway and all surrounding areas before I went at it to keep dust to a minimum.

Yes, I waited all winter and then into spring for those perfect days. No wind, and just the right temperature and no humidity. I remember praying for nice days so I could spray haha.

As long as you wait for the right day, a do it yourself at home paint job is possible without a spray booth. Of course a spray booth would be alot better, and faster to cure, but it can be done.

And of course the close up pic was after wetsand/buff lol.

Honestly in the end I was pretty proud of myself for my first attempt at paint when I was only 16, I got alot of compliments at shows from people and had them asking where I went to get it done.

I can say one thing, In the end I realized why paint jobs cost so much $$$. The time and effort that goes into it is unreal. It took me a good month to get it all how I wanted. I was so sick of wetsanding

^Very nice. I want to get my RS1 lip back. Did you attach your rear lip with screws in the wheel well area or the pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the lip?

Plastic welders work wonders. I saved an 08' headlamp from going in the garbage with it. It is currently on my car.
