I got a 2007 flint mica scion tc and I was wondering if powder coating the stock rims will void the warranty? please reply. Thanks

 

Yes You Can Powdercoat and/or Paint Them. No It Will Not Void Your Warranty.

A Warranty covers Many items on your car, SEPERATELY, so modifying your wheels would only effect the warranty on them individually, and not anything else...

Realistically, Powdercoating is a coating and baking process, which has been discussed as possibly weakening rims and in hard driving, some have cracked, so they may not cover a rim that has been powdercoated if it cracks... (But I don't anticipate that happening)...

Besides that one rim, nothing else would be affected in regards to warranty coverage.

 

Anyone know around how much it costs to get rims powder coated? Also, where's the best place to em done?

 

There was a guy on here who did it and made a thread about it. I think he said it was something like $150 each for him

wow 150 for each rim...might as well get new rims or save a bit more money


I did mine b4 I got my enkei....I got quoted 55 for each rim
I wouldnt pay more than 60 myself

 

find a local powercoater. 150/rim is kinda a lot though.

 

I'm in Mass and was quoted $50 a rim.
