question about vented hoods
so i beleive i asked this a while back but im getting closer to it now i figured i would ask again..
im going to be getting a vented cf hoof within the next week.
the hood im getting is vented right above the turbo manifold.
do i have to worry about rain, snow, or driving into a car wash?
hot manifold, cold water... seems like it wouldnt mix.
opinions,suggestions,concerns all welcome.

your main concern will be the manifold might get your cf hood warped or melted then the water, it all depends on the design of your setup.. I think a production turbo kit that would be CF friendly will the ptuning, the hot components are way down like our oem design. But the water, yeah that is something you should into too
oh some people say they never see water go on those hot areas like manifold or turbo.. some of them prolly dont realize that its not all the time it makes a water spot.
a good way to test it would be on cold engine, spray your hood with water on different directions, like doing a car wash.. open the hood and see what parts water gets into

I have the VIS hood and I made some little covers to go on it for the winter and early spring, with out them I get water on my bypass valve and engine, Just watch for cold water hitting your hot manifold, if it is the cast it will weaken and crack, on a steel style it may worp it and may even make a weld crack.. good luck.
not the prettiest thing, but im getting a hell of a deal on it
