Our TC's don't have the dual filament setup. We have separate high and low beams. 2008 TC's require an H11 bulb which is not a dual setup. You don't need to have HID's in your high beams. It is just not neccessary. If you can't see with the HID's for the low beams, you shouldn't be driving.

Also i've read a ton of different people posting that their silverstars burnout in like 3-5 months. Anyone have the same problems?

One of the reasons why I switched to HID's was because one of my Silverstar Ultra burned out in 7 months. When I replaced one of them, I saw the other side yellowish compared to the new one. Couple months later, both sides burned out. Silverstars aren't worth it. They are 30 bucks for a pair, and the HID's are 150 bucks from MobileHID. With all the money your going to invest in Silverstars, you might as well get HID's. Just my 2 cents.

i used to have them and they were relatively brighter than the stock bulbs. only thing that i dont like about them is that they do not last long. they go out within less than a year. thats when i switched to HIDs. im on reflective housing by the way on my 07. even though the HIDs were good i didnt get a good cutoff like i would with my stock or silverstar bulbs. they seem to shine wider then pretty much any HID kit in reflective housing.

Wow after reading a lot of comments from everyone it boils down to this

If you have $$$$ pay a pro to do a retrofit
If you don't you can try to do one but may end up costing more
35Watt HID plug & play kit are nice and cheap too

I had a one of a kind HID retrofit done in San Francisco, expensive but it's 1 of 1
nothing alike check the write up to see details involved

I have a New 2010 Scion TC, Planning to install HID but under 6 yr warranty..and i think supposed to take in every 5000 miles or 3 months for oil change? Do i have to leave everything stock if i were to bring the car to the dealership for check up or its safe for me to just leave the HID kit on? If i have to take it out every time i go then it be alot of work, anybody know?

Don't need to take it out. Dealerships dont care what you put in your car. all they want is your money. You'll be fine with leaving your kit in. Which ones did you get?

HIDextra is pretty good, and price is awesome for only $60 a kit $16 for harness kit. I have the 5000k lot on my Lexus 400H as fog lights.Works well Mind you 6000K looks cool and all for color but visibility start to go down after 5k.

I have a 2007 tC. Just to check, I should get the 9006 HID, right? I want 4300k, is 5000k much different? $75 seems so cheap, are those really okay? Do I need anything else? Any other brands to consider?

They don't have 4300, only 3000 and 5000, unless I'm missing something.

hmm, interesting well I dont think there is a huge difference in brightest. I just know that some people have switched to 4300k from 5k and said they could tell the difference. But I am sure you would be happy with 5k.

I have operatic or 3bspec but their kits are 100

Yea, operatic on here has a great rep, I think it is 100 with a relay if you buy the kit on here. I have had mine since December 08 and havent had any problems and I have the kit that doesnt have the relay.
