someone talk me out of it!
so, heres the story..
I've owned my tC for just about 3 1/2 years... in that time I've been hit and run just about 6 times.. each time the damage wasnt enough for me to want to spend $500 on my insurance deductible to fix. So.. instead of getting it fixed i decided to just buy some unpainted body parts and throw them on.. soo.. now my car is 3 different shades of black..
I'm highly thinking about just spray painting hte entire car..
yeah.. it sounds horrible, but doesnt it have potential to look ok? i mean.. im pretty sick of the 3 different colors and just searching around, ive seen it look half decent..
Getting an actual paintjob is not an option.. I'm hurting for money as is..
here is what my car looks like

we all know that our cars arent doing too well on hte private selling market soo selling hte car is out of the question.. and uhh.. mmm.. yeahh.. the only reason i can come up with to not do it is that it has a great potential to look bad.. but.. my car already looks bad..
SO CMON SL... TALK ME OUT OF IT

now.. i hate to bring this up, but...
there was a honda-tech thread on people rattle-canning and maybe its just me, but the pictures didnt look horrible.. i mean.. yeah.. its not gonna be great, but its gotta be better than what i have now..

My 2 cents
1)call all the junior colleges in your area and see if the want a practice car for their body shop classes next fall. We have a local JC and they do the work for just the cost of paint or parts. They are looking for real world cars.
2)Find out from local dealers whom they use for bumper and touch up work and see if you can pay as you go. i.e. $150-200 for the bumper. Then a little more for here and there. It will look better then rattle-canning it.

Honstly that looks sprayed from a gun not a can, I have "those" honda friends, and they all rattle can their cars. It wont look like that, you will mostly see uneveness through the paint. At least get it shot with a gun, or have Macco do it, they will do it for 300 or so.
^^ ahh... well i've actually explored this option..
1. here in the NYC area, there are very few if any, autobody trade schools.. closest being in conneticut which is like.. an hour away, but.. i daily my car soo.. anything more than 1 day without it will cost me big time..
2. I worked at a BMW dealership and spoke with many "touch up" guys.. lets just say.. it was just as much as getting it done at the bodyshop i got the quote at.. and that was them "hooking me up"
but yeahh.. thanks for ur 2 cents..

mm.. just curious, but u think with enough prep and stuff that it can be better?
i know this is a horrible example, but i sprayed my interior pieces and with enough sanding and such, it looked really good.. does this mentality apply to the exterior?

Buy an Air Compressor and Spray Gun, do the work yourself.
I Prepped and Primed my old Eclipse before it was going to Paint it, and it didn't come out so bad.. The only things that looked iffy' were the spots I did body work on to remove the Spoiler, and a Dent on my Passenger Door.
There are plenty of DIY's online, PLUS it's a great trade to learn.
