LOL I have a buddy of mine that wanted to do the flat black on his Integra and did it. It wasn't a great as an air compressor and paint gun but it was good enought for a daily. I honestly say just paint it part by part. You can go to a touch up site and get color matched rattle can and just do it yourself. If not save up money and get it Satin White FTW!

what is your budget on getting your car repainted? a lot of places are giving discounts on paint jobs because its summer. like here in AZ we have like 50% off paint jobs right now even matte paint jobs. i say do it right the first time and let a professional handle it.

mm.. see.. this thing i realized is that its cheaper to get a paint job in EVERY STATE other than NY... around these parts, there are very few places that do even a "decent" job.. let alone a cheap and decent job...

i went to 1 reputable place and they quoted me $4000 for just the exterior shell.. not including door jams and engine bay..

soo.. this is why ive come to this idea..

2nd the rent a compressor and buy real catalysed auto paint. You should be able to paint the fender and bumper back to OEM for under $150 in materials

Don't spray can it. Have you ever heard of car detailing? You car won't ever have a proper shine and look if you do the can. What I mean is that you can't polish it, unless it's properly painted. But it's up to you. If you're not into that kind of thing, then I guess it doesn't matter.

WEll if you rattle can it,use satin, tape everything off, take your time and be sure the surface was clean underneath and wet sanded with 1000.Rattle can it......take your time,do two coats........once it has dried for a day take 2000grit and wet sand it lightly......after a good week int he sun you can wash it and wax it even.......you will get a fairly even surface shine from the wax and it will protect it from soaking in water and rusting parts.

This is waht we did back in the day for our hotrods and it came out great to make a beat up body look clean again........paint was always last as motor and drive trane always came first for us.

You know there are a lot of great flat colors out there now to try......give the light green a try, just make sure you got enough to do the car,it takes a lot more than you think.

Oh boy, this has the potential to be really really bad. I hope it doesn't turn out that way, but the risk is high on this one.
