I hope this is the right forum...

Anyways, Ive noticed this only a few times, but I will go to close my sunroof, it will start to close "pop" then open back up again. Ill attempt again, does the same thing. But then Ill push down on the pop-bars for the air deflector a couple times, then hit close and it will close fine?

What gives? Has this happened to anyone?

 

It re-opens because of the saftey feature. It thinks there is something in the way (i.e a hand, or a finger, maybe a blunt object). In your case, you probably have some dirt or grease build up clogged in the track which is activating that saftey feature. Try cleaning and re-lubing the sunroof track and it should solve your problem.

Clean it and lube it ... sounds like the making of a bad porno... fair enough.

I do live by alot of tree and leave the roof cracked, probably leaves and such... thanks!

 

or just take it in to the dealership and have them do it for you for free

 

Argh, this happened to me today. The roof would close to the first point. Then when I hit the button again, it was like it couldn't force down the deflector, then did an about-face and opened all the way. I managed to get it closed by forcing down the deflector with my hand. Tried it again, and it wouldn't close again. Decided I woul mention it to the dealer during my next oil change. For the heck of it, I tried the roof later on in the day and it worked fine.

I know it's a "feature" of this car, but I'm really learning to hate the sunroof with a passion. Everyone always asks me if I would recommend one to buy a tC, and I always answer that I love the car, but absolutely wouldn't recommend anyone buy one until the sunroof issues are sorted out.
