no weird noises. opens smoothly, closes smoothly, except for that last step (when the sunroof becomes flush with the roof)

have you checked the pivot points of the wind deflector? there are two up front, and there are pivot points on the arm that pushes up the front deflector. Wondering if maybe those are binding causing an issue..

now if that's fine, the other thing to look at are the two pivot points that "vent" the sunroof panel, those could be binding as well.

when you vent the roof, you'll see them that lift up the backside of the sunroof. was just wondering if those were binding. My thinking is that if the sunroof can't pull that pivot point down, then the roof wouldn't be able to move into its fully closed position. and that would leave that rear sitting up above the roofline.. sort of like when you "vent" the sunroof without opening it fully.

edit: they are massive 3/4" - 1" wide metal scissor looking pivot points. you can see them from the rear of the sunroof.. let me know if you need more detail.. wish i could find a pic of it..
