i had my tail lights tinted and they looked nice but they have that matte effect and i wanted them to look glossy. i was wondering that if i put a clear overlay on them or a very lightly tinted overlay would it make it appear more glossy or would that just not work. opinions please.

 

take em to a body shop and have them clear coated.

 

Clear them yourself. Just use a can per tail. Those suckas should be shiny after that.

 

spray it.

Looks good, but u can essentially do it urself with eaz, but if u wanna spend $100's of dollars knock urself out lol.

 

i went to my body shop guy and he said that i would need new tails for it to look good. these guys ____ed it up because they used the wrong paint. i better get some money off the rest of my work for this.

 

 

so these guys wanna open the tail light and spray the inside of the tail light. should i still use vht nite shades or should i use something else.

 

Get rid of w/e is on there....sand it w/e best u can then I would VHT it....and clear coat gloss it, but thats just me! Cracking the housing open would be a pain in the ___!

 

^^Yeah, I don't think openin' 'em is really worth it. It would make a cool candy effect, but it would also make for serious butt-pain.
Just sand 'em down and take your time spraying light coats.

hey he offered to do it and im not paying him one penny. that ____ is for free because this will be the third time im have them tinted by him so this time he said hes gonna do it right. cause im sure he knows the pain in the ___ its gonna be but oh well.. if i ever get around to taking pictures ill put them up

 

Mmmm...If that guy's messed up twice just spraying them, I wouldn't dare let him near my tail lights with a Dremel. But that's just me.

yea... it's not like it's an easy thing to open those tails...
