Default tC Antenna...... SHAVED!

I want to shave my antenna when I paint the top half of my tC, but I need to know where to relocate my antenna to get a strong signal since I listen to a lot of radio. I haven't seen any posts on this, and was wondering if some of the paint and body work people can give me there 2cents on what to buy, and where to put the antenna?

Really appreciate it!!!

Scott

I really don't think there are any other good places to put it. The roof is pretty much out of the question since it's all glass. Maybe on the trunk lid...

I'm not sure why you'd want to though. Most people would just get an S2000 antenna or something so it's shorter and less noticable.

would changing the antenna to a shorter antenna like the s2000 effect the signal at all because it was made for a different car? also is the satellite radio antenna different than the regular one?

^ I'm currently using a Lexus RX330 antenna and I actually feel it gets a better signal through some places the stock one had some interference. But then again it could just be my imagination.

I don't know if it'll work but you can try and modify a BMW Shark Fin to perform as an antenna and place it in the superior part of the hatch's glass. I saw someone doing it here in Puerto Rico but only he didn't modify it to work but just for show!

Man that sucks if it didn't actually work. I would have had no antenna then.

I'm working with Honey0Bucket on this currently... We will post results when we get it all worked out I'm sure, but I run XM/iPOD and will soon run a CARPC, so I don't really use my antenna anyways.... I'm working on mounting it inside the side body panel, but I'm sure you'd lose some reception.
